Sarkin Zabarma Of Greater Accra(Sarki Alhaji Pro Tanko Umar) Tours Northern And Brong Ahafo Region

Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra (Sarki Alhaji Pro Tanko Umar) embarked on a working day tour to the Northern and Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Several visitations were made and a coronation by His Royal Highness together with his abled entourage. His Royal Highness arrived in a grand style and was given a befitting arrival by the people of Tamale. The coronation of the Tamale Zabarma Chief(Sarki Alhaji Muniru Alhassan)was part of the main agenda which a Durbar was held in honor of His Royal Highness which got massive attendance and they were entertained by wrestling as part of the activities for the day.



  

   

Furthermore, His Royal Highness together with the Tamale Zabarma Chief and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Gukpe Naa Alhassan(Tamale Naa) at his palace. Lots of interesting discussions concerning the youth and how to promote peaceful coexistence among their people. From there the team moved to Yoo Naa of Savlugu at his residence where they even met Alhaji Baba Haruna Iddrissu (Northern Regional Chairman of the NDC). There were new developments during the meeting and the leadership assured to put appropriate measures in place for the betterment of the community at large.

 


 

Again the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Sarki Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila (“Tugu Yepalsi Naa”) at his residence and also the Sarki Zongo of Tamale. Both meetings were fruitful and lots of developmental issues were brought on board as part of His Royal Highness transformation agenda. The tour ended after the final Dua which saw lots of dignitaries in attendance like H.E John Dramani Mahama, Hon Haruna Iddrissu and many more. Brief History Of Dosso, Niger 🇳🇪

Dosso was founded in the second half of the 18th century by the Zarma ruler Garanké as his capital where he established the rule of the Zarmakoy (the Zarma rulers of Dosso). This was the highest level of political administration and justice. The rulers of the surrounding Zarma areas had to pay homage to the prestigious Zarmakoy of Dosso. From 1820, Dosso found itself in constant armed conflict with the Fulani Sokoto Caliphate. In 1830,  Zarmakoy Laouzo died in a battle and was succeeded by Gounabi who was shortly deposed by the Sokoto Caliphate. Dosso remained for several years without a Zarmakoy under the rule of Usman Dan Fodio's Sokoto Caliphate until 1850 when Zarmakoy Kassom took over.
