Greater Accra Zabarma Chief Attends Funeral Of Late Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila At Tamale

​The Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra upon invitation as the special guest of honor was present to witness the complete funeral rites of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila. Upon the arrival of His Royal Highness, the “Tugu Yepalsi Palace “ was the first place he visited accompanied by his abled entourage to witness the giving of “COLA” to the new “TUGU YEPALSI NAA“ Alhaji Aminu Mobila (Eldest son of late chief). He also took the opportunity to  sympathize with the new “TUGU YEPALSI NAA” together with the entire family.





“Tuwa Yepalsi” was His Royal Highness next destination to also witness several rituals which includes “KAKPAYIRI KAMOONAA”(A ritual performed only by the warriors of the land for a great leader/warrior who has passed on), “YILI GILIBU”( Chiefs and warriors going round the palace which signifies the passing on of a late chief), “NATSI NAA” and “DAGBAN SAPASHINI NAMA”( All Chiefs and warriors from Tamale, Nalerigu, Savelugu and other neighboring communities gather to exhibit their “DAMBA” dancing skills together with their warriors firing their rifles countless number of times). The final dua which was on Friday at the “TEWU YEPALSI “ saw lots of important dignitaries which includes the Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra, Chiefs and warriors, Hon Haruna Iddrissu, Hon Alhassan Suhiyini and many more. 







Early Saturday morning, Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra departed together with his entourage to witness the enskinment of the new “TUGU YEPALSI NAA” by the “TUGU NAA” as custom demands. From there the newly enskinned “TUGU YEPALSI NAA” was escorted by the Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra to pay homage to his wives by passing through the ancient sacred hut in the royal house. “TEWU YEPALSI “ was the final destination where special guest like the Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra, Chiefs and warriors gathered to pay their last respect to the newly enskinned “TUGU YEPALSI NAA” . It’s been a wonderful event and the entire family of the late “TUGU YEPALSI NAA” were very grateful for the immense efforts and contribution of the Sarki Zabarma of Greater Accra. His Royal Highness again assured the family and all Northern Regional tribes that he would inshaa Allah  work tirelessly to improve on the existing relationship that began way back into time between the Zabarma's and the Northern Region.

Brief History Of Dosso, Niger 🇳🇪

Dosso was founded in the second half of the 18th century by the Zarma ruler Garanké as his capital where he established the rule of the Zarmakoy (the Zarma rulers of Dosso). This was the highest level of political administration and justice. The rulers of the surrounding Zarma areas had to pay homage to the prestigious Zarmakoy of Dosso. From 1820, Dosso found itself in constant armed conflict with the Fulani Sokoto Caliphate. In 1830,  Zarmakoy Laouzo died in a battle and was succeeded by Gounabi who was shortly deposed by the Sokoto Caliphate. Dosso remained for several years without a Zarmakoy under the rule of Usman Dan Fodio's Sokoto Caliphate until 1850 when Zarmakoy Kassom took over.
