Greater Accra Zabarma Chief Meets With The Zabarma Community In Tamale

​An historical event took place yesterday evening at the Sakasaka area in Tamale between the Greater Accra Zabarma Chief(Sarki Alhaji Pro Umar Tanko) and the Zabarma Community In Tamale. It  was a moment full of fruitful interactions and majority of the Zabarma people were there in their numbers to witness the awesome presentation of  His Royal Highness. It was also a golden opportunity for some of the people especially those who have always wanted to meet His Royal Highness in person.





The Imam of the Zabarma Community in Tamale played a key role during the organization of the program. They took the opportunity to express their concerns about their situation in this region with regards to the registration of Identity Cards because they have always been victims of ethnocentrism. His Royal Highness further laid more emphasis on how to seek education to be useful citizens, acquisition of descent jobs, abstaining from illicit drugs and many more. He continuously gave them his word by working assiduously to improve their situation. The Greater Accra Zabarma Chief who doubles as the President of Ghana Zabarma Association concluded by declaring his positive intentions towards his transformation agenda for the entire Zabarma Community in the country. The overwhelming crowd was enveloped which much joy as it is a day they would never forget in their lives.  His Royal Highness was much grateful for their precious time and gave them his word by looking for appropriate and everlasting solutions. The Greater Accra Zabarma Chief’s wind keeps blowing in a positive direction. He also advised them to continue to maintain and improve the bilateral relations between theirselves and all the northern tribes for peaceful coexistence.

Brief History Of Dosso, Niger 🇳🇪

Dosso was founded in the second half of the 18th century by the Zarma ruler Garanké as his capital where he established the rule of the Zarmakoy (the Zarma rulers of Dosso). This was the highest level of political administration and justice. The rulers of the surrounding Zarma areas had to pay homage to the prestigious Zarmakoy of Dosso. From 1820, Dosso found itself in constant armed conflict with the Fulani Sokoto Caliphate. In 1830,  Zarmakoy Laouzo died in a battle and was succeeded by Gounabi who was shortly deposed by the Sokoto Caliphate. Dosso remained for several years without a Zarmakoy under the rule of Usman Dan Fodio's Sokoto Caliphate until 1850 when Zarmakoy Kassom took over.
